Friday Update

Here is what has been happening lately in the lives of the Wellings, in no particular order:

This weekend when I was in Vegas I was playing with my Dad's iPad and found this folder on it, I had no idea he read my blogs! :)

We got to see Margo, Jeremy, Kylie and their baby Kennedy which was so much fun. Kennedy is getting pretty good at Mortal Kombat!
(picture taken by one of the little Mexican kids that are constantly playing in the streets of our cul-de-sac)

Picture I snapped of Utah Lake. Yesterday we had some time so we went on a drive around the lake. We saw one couple taking their engagement pictures and one guy proposing to his girlfriend! Love was in the air obviously.

My teal necklace from eBay arrived, it's a copycat of Jcrew's $150 version, but I'm slightly nervous it's real because it's got a little charm on it with Jcrew stamped in it and it looks high quality, maybe stolen goods? Best not to worry about it. :)

I got to go to Ally and Steve's wedding in Vegas this weekend, it was so much fun! Courtney's mom Holly was a little paparazzi though, taking pictures with her little iPhone everywhere she could, and directing the bridesmaids.

Kittykins. This is the kitty that comes and visits us sometimes, but sometimes is becoming just about every day. I'm concerned because we are NOT allowed to have cats, and it's starting to feel like we have a cat. Oh and I'm 75% sure she's pregnant.

Kittykins just takin' it easy.

And it's FRIDAY! Couldn't be happier about it.

Juice Fast: Day 3

Didn't have time to juice this morning before work (it takes about half an hour!!!) so I am going to do it when I get home, and hopefully do better this weekend. Dangit!

P.s. Tried to watch Downtown Abbey since everyone talks about it lately.... yeah it totally sucks. SO boring and looooong. Just watch Sherlock instead.

Juice Fast: Day 2

It is day 2 for me of this lil' ol' juice diet.  Having a sick husband is not great timing to do a juice diet, since my poor little feverish hubby requested pizza and a McFlurry for dinner last night. So I did have a few slices, but I feel okay about it. I'm enjoying this so we'll see how effective it is when I still eat a little bit occasionally.

It is 12:30pm and I feel good! I had an orange/carrot/cucumber/apple/celery juice this morning, and then for lunch I have some celery/kale/carrot/apple/orange/ginger/lemon juice to sip on. I really don't have exact measurements, I just throw it all in until I have enough. I also ate a cheese stick and I have some strawberries and a banana for later since I'm here until 6 again. Maybe this is completely boring for some people but I need to record this, and it keeps me from just saying "Eff it!" and buying 8 breakfast sandwiches from Del Taco. I know that sounds gross but seriously I could eat 8.

And here is what I will be making this weekend:

They look so good!

Juice Fast: Day 1

So I am starting a juice fast.

I KNOW, I don't need to lose 10 pounds. I feel like I'm going to get people (mom!) saying "Why are you doing this?! You're too skinny!" Well I am not "too skinny", but either way I think this will be a great way for me to kick start my health and my workouts. We recently watched a documentary with some friends called "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead".  It is on Netflix so you should all check it out. Basically juicing is amazing. The thing is, on a juice fast, ALL YOU DRINK IS JUICE. It must be fairly fresh juice, and mostly green veggies. I've been trying it for a few days now mixed in with food and I just decided that I want to commit to the full fast. I'm thinking I will try and do it until Wednesday of next week. So 8 days! That is the recommended time anyways so it works out perfectly. And I am going to Vegas on Thursday so it will be just in time for me to go home and eat all my Mom's delicious food.

This is my Cabela's cup. It is hard plastic so I am going to use it for my juices, SO convenient, yet sporty. :)

Today is Day 1.

I'm feeling pretty good. This morning I made a juice for breakfast which was I think 2 apples, 2 tiny oranges, some cucumber, 2 carrots, 2 celery stalks and 1/4 of a lemon. I wanted it more fruit based to start my day out. After that I made juice for the rest of my workday since I can't really take the juicer to work and pull out my box of veggies. In that one I did a cucumber, 4 celery stalks, I think 4 carrots, 2 T. ginger, a handful of spinach, 1/2 a lemon, 1 orange, and 2 apples. I may be missing things but I think that is it. I drank the fruit one this morning, and then this afternoon I have been slowly making my way through the green juice. I did eat a banana and some strawberries to break up the monotony. They are actually really tasty! It is interesting, the more I drink them the better they taste to me. It is only 3:30pm and I am at work till about 6 today, so we will see how I feel in a little while, but right now I am feeling good. When I get home tonight I will make another juice for dinner, I want to re-create some V-8 juice.... I think that I am going to be a little more lenient with this because I know I don't need to lose a ton of weight. My motivation is to detox my body, feel healthier, have more energy, and basically just try something new. I might have some chicken one night, or some of this really amazing curry Brandon makes. I'm not going crazy but I do want it to be mainly juicing. We'll see how this goes, and how long I last. I figure if I blog about it I'm more likely to stick with it. Brandon is actually sick so he might do it later, but not while he is feeling crummy.

Wish me luck!

P.S.

There is this game EVERYONE is playing called "Draw Something". Basically Pictionary with no time limits and it is on the iPhone. The other day I drew the Lorax and I was pretty proud of myself:

All my other drawings usually look like my nephew might have done it, and he is 4.

V-Day 2012

I just realized I never posted about Valentines Day! We went to dinner at India Palace, (Indian food is our FAAV). Then we went home and gave each other our gifts. I made Brandon a cheesy coupon book, and got him a few little things like fruit snacks, etc. He got me BEAUTIFUL flowers, some red roses and purple tulips, (purple is my favorite color). He also hid valentines all over the house. Sweet tart valentines to be exact. He didn't realize but they were Christian themed, so they said things like this:

Each of them had something he loved about me on the back, and they were hidden ALL over the house. It took me forever and our apartment is tiny!!

I made cheesecake filled strawberries, which were good but I would recommend using one of those cheesecake filling mixes, I think it would be better...

We pulled out our air mattress to watch movies and massage each other's scalps. If you don't have one of these things you absolutely need to get one. It is HEAVEN. Yeah he is passed out asleep.

And our dinner. I could probably eat peshwari for breakfast lunch and dinner, but I have to refrain.

Valentines day is so much fun, Brandon always manages to surprise me, even when I think he's had no time because he has been doing a paper and at school all day, he manages to hide valentines all over our apartment! What a stud.
