So last night we were making Chicken Coconut Korma for dinner (still working on the recipe, so far nowhere near Bombay House but we're working on it) and we preheated the oven to heat up the Naan. Well there was some oil in the bottom of the oven from when we cured our dutch oven for camping, and I look down into the oven and see FLAMES!!!! Brandon was in the other room and I absolutely panicked. I had enough sense to turn off the oven and yell "BRANDON, FIRE!!" and he came running in and said "Where??" And we opened the oven and he said "Flour!" So we searched for flour, he grabbed handfuls out of the canister thing we keep it in, and I poured it right from the bag onto the flames. It took about a minute to go out, it was stubborn!! Is it bad that I wish I took a picture? Haha, it was crazy. After it was out Brandon said, "Well, I don't think we're ready to open our own restaurant..." Haha, yes, you are correct husband.

Lately: 6/26/12
What have we been doing lately you ask? Camping, fishing, hiking, camping, hiking, fishing, and fishing. And more camping! :) On the weekend of 6/16 we went camping just the two of us at Gooseberry reservoir. We stayed 1 night and had a lot of fun fishing and enjoying the beautiful scenery.
Yeah that's a s'more made with 2 chocolate chip cookies, we get crazy.
Campfire pictures! I said "smile!" and Brandon pulled this model face haha.
I was thisclose to getting in that water, it was so hot and the water was AMAZING!
Then last weekend 6/22 we went camping with our friends Dave and Amber on Friday night at Hobble Creek. There were a ton of kids playing in the river though, and we ventured to new parts of the river but didn't have any luck on Friday. It was VERY unusual because Dave and Brandon and I have all been there a few times and caught lots of fish! Oh and we set up our tent and stuff at a campsite, but then decided we wanted a different one up the road. Well the boys decided to just pick up the tent and walk it over! I cannot tell you how funny it was seeing them come up the road hauling a 5-person tent with sleeping bags in it.... oh wait, I can show you. :)
We ended up fishing till it was dark, well the boys fished until it was dark and Amber and I collected wood for the campfire and talked. :) Dave made a delicious scalloped potato dinner for us, and we had hot dogs, and for dessert Black Forest Cake! Which is as follows:
1 box Devils Food Cake or Choc. Cake Mix
1 can Sprite or Cherry Soda
1 Cherry Pie Filling
1 Hersheys Bar
Crunched Walnuts
You put the pie filling on the bottom of a greased dutch oven, then the cake mix, then pour the soda over the top of the mix and mix with the cake mix but don't touch the pie filling. Then sprinkle the top with chocolate pieces and walnuts. Then cook over fire for about 20-30 minutes depending on your fire. It was delish!!! Next time though I would do 2 pie fillings, and maybe more chocolate pieces on top, You could even just use chocolate chips I think. Here is a pic, but it was much more yummy than the pictures look:
And we found a little snakey snake, he was cute:
Brandon caught 2 fish on Saturday, so we didn't go home completely defeated!
Amber found a HUGE disabled butterfly... well we don't know if it was disabled but it didn't really seem able to fly. Poor thing!
Don't worry that I'm at least 3 shades lighter than Amber, STORY OF MY LIFE!! Slather me in spray tan and I'm still pale. It's a curse!
Dave teaching Amber how to fish, aren't they adorable!?
(I know this is a long post, if you're still reading, I'm VERY suprised.)
AND on Sunday (6/24) we took a little day trip to the Uintas to Crystal Lake and Washington Lake. It was SERIOUSLY beautiful. I kept taking pictures and thinking WOW this could be a postcard. It only took us a little over an hour to get there. Brandon was fishing and got a little audience, a man with his kids who were SO excited to watch Brandon fish. When he caught one they all came over to see it, they loved it!
I picked a bunch of wildflowers, they were so pretty! But the bumblebees up there are ginormous and I think they got mad at me.
See, Postcard!! We each caught a bunch of fish, I know I caught at least 6...
A tiger trout I caught that was so big!!! I love that you can see Brandon in the background haha.
So as you can see, this is pretty much what we have been doing lately! How can we not enjoy the beautiful places in Utah that we live so close to? This weekend Brandon is going on a little backpacking trip in the Uintas with some friends, and I will be hanging out with my family and attending my darling niece Lilee's blessing on Sunday!
Oh and the weekend after that we will be going on our Annual family camping trip in Beaver, so even MORE camping!! Haha, but we love and and we're really looking forward to it.
Hope everyone is having a great summer so far!

3 Years of Wuv
Yesterday was Brandon and I's 3 Year ANNIVERSARY! Insane. I can't believe it's been 3 years. But they have been great! It's amazing to me that we can spend every minute together all weekend, and never once get tired of one another. It's so funny, we spend so much time together, and then Sunday night Brandon is still trying to get me to stay up later with him (I go to bed earlier than him) because we still want to hang out together! Guess that's why we married each other :).
Last night after work we took a little cat nap:
No literally, because this little kitty was passed out on my feet the whole time.
Then we went to eat at India Palace in Provo, and it is just SO GOOD.
I could literally no exaggeration eat Indian food every day for the rest of my life. It is my #1 favorite, followed by Italian food. Peshwari?! So ridiculously good. I don't understand people who don't love it, I really don't.
Then we went to Macey's to get some snacks for our movie, Battleship. Brandon was being his usually ridiculously funny self and I was laughing so hard in the middle of an aisle and everyone in the aisle was looking at me and there wasn't a thing I could do about it. If you want me to be quiet then make my husband boring or something!
Okay, Battleship? The cheesy level was at a 9 at least. SERIOUSLY cheesy, but the effects were pretty cool. Oh and the aliens? Kinda lame. I guess I'm glad we saw it, but I really think they could have done better.
I did take some pictures of us but they are on my camera, I'll upload later! We're going camping this weekend with our friends Dave and Amber in the Uintas, so we're looking forward to that!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to us!!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to us!!

Zucchini "Pasta"
Everyone should go ahead and go to Amazon and get themselves one of these:
It is a julienne peeler, and it allows you to make zucchini pasta!!!
This was our dinner last night. We mixed Mushroom Marinara sauce with a little bit of light Alfredo sauce, and heated up some Ikea Swedish meatballs (I love those things) and tossed it with the zucchini pasta! You peel the zucchinis with the peeler, and it makes the coolest noodle sized strips! So easy. Then you just toss the "pasta" in olive oil over medium heat for about 5-10 minutes till a bit tender. Ours was a little Al dente, I like a little bit of crunch so it was fantastic. Believe me I don't really like the taste of straight zucchini so this was fantastic, it's really just a way to get the sauce and meatballs in your mouth and feel like you're eating pasta. I would say use 3 big zucchinis for 2 people, the strips shrink a little as they cook. And the garlic bread kind of negates the "pasta" I realize, but we only had 1 piece each and it just kicked the whole meal up to GREAT. Oh and those strawberries, not the least bit tart, just sweet. AH now I want to eat this again for dinner...

Happy Father's Day!
My Dad is the best, we were lucky enough to have him around a lot growing up. His job was flexible enough that if we wanted to go on a vacation, or wanted him to come to our soccer games, he was always there. He has a huge heart, always helping others as much as he can, yet he is eternally a kid at heart. I've heard stories about when I was little and didn't feel well, I would say "Walk me daddy!" and he would carry me around for hours because it helped me sleep. He's an amazing Dad and I'm so grateful for him! I got to talk to him yesterday and we talked to Brandon's Dad Wendell as well! He never fails to thank me for being so good to his son, and tells me how grateful he is to have me for a daughter in law. Wendell is a great man and we wish we could see him more (he lives in Alaska)! We're so grateful for the Dad's in our lives.
Aren't my Dad and my Grandpa pretty much the same?! I think they look so much alike!!
See, he opened a go-cart track recently. KID AT HEART I tell you!
Happy Father's Day Dads!

Work it Out
So I've been going to the gym lately. After work I just head on over to Planet Fitness, and change at the gym, and do it. I don't know why I dread it so much? After I'm there and when I walk out I feel so great. I think I'm slowly getting used to it. Anyways I've recently been doing Amanda Russell workouts.
She's this adorable girl who used to run competitively but then she got injured. As she recuperated she learned she didn't need to run miles a day to stay in shape, so she came up with these intense home type workouts to get in shape, and I kind of love them. I did the "ULTIMATE HIP, BUM, THIGHS WORKOUT" the other day. Oh yeah don't expect to be able to walk for a few days after that one. My hammies were ON FIRE. And they're pretty fun. I used an online program to convert some of her videos to mp4 files and put them onto my phone so I can just watch them at the gym without having to go through YouTube. Love em'. I'm a fan, here are 2 that I do most often.
Hip, Bum, Thigh Workout
Ab Workout
Let's hope I can keep going! I'm going to San Diego in July, and hopefully Huntington Beach (MARGO!!!) later this summer, and Seven Peaks I'm sure...that's motivational right? Hm I'm craving a Dunford....
Speaking of Dunfords I've gone from having them about 2-4 times a week (that's not a joke) to only ONCE a week! It's a miracle you guys. And I make a green smoothie every morning. The problem was that they used to not fill me up and I'd be hungry by 10-11ish. Now I put CHIA SEEDS (or chia gel) in them and I'm good till around 12 or 12:30! I'm telling you those things are great.
Forever 21, $18, Forever 21, $16, Forever 21 sports bra, $8.80, Forever 21, $7.80
Forever 21 foldover pants,$7.80, Forever 21 shorts, $7.80
Forever 21 foldover pants,$7.80, Forever 21 shorts, $7.80
Have I mentioned I LOVE Forever 21 workout clothes? Who knew they were so nice! I have a few things from their Activewear section that I seriously love! Everything I've gotten is high-quality and so dang cheap. Tip: Size down. I do have to get extra smalls because things just fall down or move when I'm working out and I hate that, so I get the teeny tiny ones because they stretch SO MUCH and then stay put. I'm not an extra small, so I say go a size down in everything (at least pants).
P.S
I really want some rollerblades and a jump rope.*
*Not to be used at the same time.

Hump Day List
Currently listening to:
(Via Pandora "Eagles (1950's)" Station)
Currently working on:
(Now that I know never to buy white shoes, I will ruin them in the first hour.)
-A Fourth of July Wreath
-Father's Day card for pops
Currently eating:
-Oatmeal Raisin Cookies (Bran's fav)
-We decided to test out that Pinterest thing where you mix a box of devil's food cake cake mix with 1 can of pureed pumpkin and bake. GROSS. Don't waste your time. Not chocolatey, super bland. Pinterest lies so much.
-CHIA SEEDS! In smoothies, meatloaf, on watermelon, in juice, etc. My new thing. Slowly getting Bran on board...
Currently cuddling:
Can't get enough of em'. We adopted out Ace to a nice young girl awhile ago, but we still have Mixey and Cow Kitty. They're almost 9 WEEKS OLD! Crazy how time flies. They're calming down a little bit. They will actually cuddle us and let us pet them and purr their little heads off. But then they get their energy back and STOMP around the apartment jumping on each other. Cow Kitty LOVES shoes. If we have any shoes laying around he is in/on them. He will stick his 2 front paws in them and just lay there and sleep on them. So weird but so very cute. I think we have someone to give them both to in the next few weeks, so I'm trying to enjoy them while we have them. Even though they put little claw marks all over our banana chair and I'm not happy about that. >:(
Currently wishing for:
Is my birthday coming up? Christmas? No?.... Aw man. :(
Currently looking forward to:
-Camping this weekend with my love
-3 Year Anniversary!
-San Diego trip in July with my BFFs
-Annual Family Camping trip in Beaver in July
Currently need to do:
-Redeem our Pass of all Passes! I need some Seven Peaks in my life pretty soon. (Did I mention we got them for $10 each? Crazy.)
-Crank out some jewelry, because I am hoping to sell at the Provo Farmers Market soon!
-Hike the Y
-Take a surprising amount of stuff to DI
-Redeem my Mani/Pedi gift certificate
-Spray tan! Don't worry, I have at least 6 racked up that I need to use. No sun damage for this girl!
-Figuring out an Anniversary present for the hubs, it'll be 3 YEARS on the 20th! Insane.
Happy Wednesday!

Calendar 2012
I doubt anyone is as hyper-organized as me, but just in case you are I thought I would throw this calendar I made on here. There are 4 PDF files, for calendars for the rest of July. Example:
*Obviously it's much more clear than this picture when you print it out. :)
I was searching on Microsoft Office and couldn't find what I was looking for, so I went ahead and made some. The downloads are June-July, August-Sept, Oct-Nov, and then December on its own page. They all look like the one above. I like to plan out our trips, holidays, birthdays, etc. so I wanted 2 months on a page so I would only need 4 pages to plan the rest of the year. Yes I know I have a problem, I already have a calendar on the fridge and a calendar on my phone, but sometimes you need it on paper!!! Here are the PDF links, you just scroll down and there is a link that says "Download file".
(Let me know if they print out blurry or anything, they printed out super crisp for me!)
Happy organizing! ;)

Friday Favorites
The BEST news- I booked my flight for San Diego in July!!! Ms. Leavitt has invited us frieeennss (as Alyssa would say it) to her family's beach house for the weekend and I am all a flutter excited about it. July 12th-16th and it's going to be a blast.
Now, other good news, I bought a new purse and I'm entirely obsessed with it.
It'll be here in 3-5 business days. And yes I realize it's weird, I can't help it, I LOVE IT.
I'm thinking Olivia Palermo Blonde for summer...
Thoughts?
Now for some things on my wish list:
Polar Bear Sweater $58
ASOS skull tank $28
Flamingo Top, $38
Lace up wedge booties, $42
Wedge heel shoes, $28
Watch, $38
Women's Drawstring Slub-Jersey Maxi Skirts $30
Double Feature Top $27
I bought a few of these "half tees" from Shade to wear under tanks and whatnot in the summer, I think I might be able to pull off the black one under that skull tank because I need that sassy thing.
Polar Bear in a hat hoodie?! Sometimes I go on Modcloth and I don't like anything and everything is way overpriced, and then sometimes they have something like that and I'm like "DANGIT MODCLOTH!" You did good.
Flamingo shirt, whatevs.
Cream maxi skirt? I'd wear it with a white top and neutral accessories and that would be that.
Stud watch, lace up booties, yellow wedges... you're great. Why is it that I love heels? I KNOW I wouldn't really ever wear them if I owned them. Wear them to work? No, I would be taller than literally 2 people I work with. Church, yes. But that's only once a week! Grrrr.
So there's my Friday Favorites. Looking forward to the weekend!!!!
Happy Friday.
Oh P.s.
Has anyone been watching The Bachelorette? People are SO RIDICULOUS sometimes!!! Emily is a cutie, but I don't know if I love any of the guys yet.... Also why do they edit the dates like they do? I never see ANY laughing or talking about anything other than "Are you ready to be a father?" I want to see someone make her laugh! How can she possibly be having "The best time ever..." if there's no conversation or laughing?! Ugh
